Zacharius, the prophet who announced a king of peace
Zacharius is commemorated in the Christian faith for many reasons, the two main ones being prophetic visions: firstly, he predicted the return of the Jewish people from exile to the promised land, and secondly, he announced the coming of a humble and peaceful Messiah, whom the evangelists recognised in Jesus.
