“So my life has begun again”
On “Il Mediterraneo24,” the story of Vincenzo, a homeless man who became a social worker at La Casa di Muhil in Palermo

PALERMO – With a beautiful, bewildering smile, Vincenzo, every day, is ready to respond to the different needs of the homeless people who are housed in the La Casa di Muhil dormitory of the La Danza delle Ombre association.
In fact, from 7:30 p.m. onward, every evening in the House of Muhil, in Piazzetta della Pace, 24 homeless people wait to enter to take advantage of showers and toilets, eat a frugal dinner and sleep in a comfortable bed.
Currently, there are mostly men and only three women. Half of the people housed are of foreign origin from: Ghana, Nigeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Poland and France. They are scheduled to leave the reception center at 8 a.m. after breakfast; h24 reception is guaranteed only for some people who have delicate health problems.
