“Humble instrument of God’s mercy” in Guatemala
In a few months, On May 14, 2025, Fr. Angelo Esposito, a missionary in Guatemala, will celebrate his 25 years of priesthood
It is with deep gratitude and joy that I share with you my journey as a priest and missionary. Almost 25 years ago, I responded to the Lord’s call, giving my life to the service of His Church.
Of these years of ministry, 15 were as a Fidei Donum missionary in Guatemala, and 13 of them in Tacaná, San Marcos.
Here, in this land and with its people, I found a true spiritual home.
With an open heart, I dedicated my life to serving those most in need, seeking to be a humble instrument of God’s love and mercy. Every day taught me something new: the strength of faith, hope in the midst of difficulties and the richness of fraternal sharing.
I recognize that, after so many years, I sometimes feel weariness. But far from being an obstacle, I perceive it as an opportunity to reaffirm my total “yes” to God, to renew the gift of myself that I made that day when I was ordained a priest. This feeling is nothing but the echo of a life dedicated with love and commitment, and it reminds me that everything is vfor Him and in Him.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers, support and closeness. It is you, with your testimony of faith and your warm humanity, who are my strength and inspiration.
I ask you to continue to pray for me, that the Lord will grant me the grace to remain faithful to this mission as long as He wills.
Let us always trust in God’s love, which never abandons us. Let us continue to walk together, building the Kingdom of God through humble service and the generous gift of ourselves.
With all my affection, in Christ Jesus,
Father Angelo Esposito
