Day of Consecrated Life: being a presence of light, mercy and hope

To consecrated men and women around the world spazio + spadoni wishes to be presence of light, mercy and hope

On Feb. 2, the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, the XXIX World Day of Consecrated Life was celebrated.

“An occasion on which the Church huddles with joy and gratitude around consecrated men and women who have pronounced their yes by giving their lives to God for the Church and the world,” they state from the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

“We trust that those who have responded to the call of consecration may be a light to all.”
This is the wish of spazio + spadoni on Candlemas Day, summarizing a fact: consecrated men and women are an important point of reference for so many, especially for those who are still groping in the dark and looking for someone who will listen to them, stay close to them, and give them hope. “Their presence is a witness of mercy in a society dominated by the culture of discarding and which often marginalizes the poorest.”

As the Pope stated, “let the consecrated be an example of love in a world of superficial relationships,” bearers of light, poverty, sobriety and charity.

Also today, a national Jubilee of Consecrated Life was held  in every country in the world that will have scheduled it, in anticipation of the world Jubilee in Rome Oct. 8-12, in which consecrated men and women from all continents belonging to different realities will participate. The slogan will be “Pilgrims of hope, on the way of peace.”
