PALERMO – A path of full capacity building that aims to be able to achieve full autonomy of life once they come of age. Ѐ what the SAI (Sistema Accoglienza Integrazione) guarantees to unaccompanied foreign minors-Msna.
Recounting the different aspects of the process is Angela Errore, coordinator of migration policies and head of the U.O. House of Rights and Sai projects for the reception of migrants (minors and adults) of the City of Palermo.
How is the SAI system organized for unaccompanied foreign minors?
It is a system, coordinated at the national level by the Viminale in collaboration with the National Association of Italian Municipalities-Anci, of interventions that have a common goal: the second-level reception of boys and girls of minor age who arrive in Italy unaccompanied by a relative or an adult.
The minors or neo-adults are received in Sai Palermo’s 24 locations: to be precise, 20 locations are in Palermo and 4 locations are in Termini Imerese, for a grand total of 200 places. Specifically, we have 26 girls and 174 boys.
