“Women Without Borders” | Avvenire’s initiative

Starting March 8, every fortnight Avvenire will publish a report edited by networks of women journalists from the global south

To give space to the stories of women who remain in the shadows

“Women Without Borders” is a project by Avvenire aimed at giving voice to female journalists from the Global South, working in contexts marked by conflict, discrimination, and restrictions on freedom.

The mission of this project is to share, through reports by journalists from ten independent networks, the daily struggles of women, but also the opportunities for redemption and their role in female empowerment.

The stories cover topics such as gender-based violence, education, and child marriage, offering an alternative narrative that challenges the stereotypes often found in Western media.

This initiative represents an act of mercy, bringing forward testimonies from those who live firsthand in situations of poverty and conflict, as the Gospel teaches. Each report is a work of solidarity, building a global network of support and awareness.

With this project, Avvenire highlights these silenced voices, allowing us to listen to the women fighting for justice, especially during this Jubilee of Mercy.
