Vatican Libraries and Archives: an exceptional event
Study day to celebrate 140 years of the Vatican School of Paleography, Diplomatics and Archival Studies and 90 years of the Vatican School of Library Science
Unique repositories of human memory and ingenuity stratified throughout the centuries within a perspective that is both human and ecclesial: this is what the Vatican Apostolic Archives and the Vatican Library represent, and it is immediately clear how precious, within them, are the School of Paleography, Diplomatics and Archival Studies desired by Leo XIII 140 years ago, and the School of Library Science established by Pius XI, 90 years ago.
