Spazio Spadoni Brings Forum on Works of Mercy to Burkina Faso
A Weekend of Reflection and Cultural Sharing in Bobo-Dioulasso
After the great response received from the holding of the Forum on Works of Mercy in Benin last weekend with the participation of more than 200 people including consecrated women, consecrated men, priests, catechists and charismatic groups, we are preparing with the same joy and enthusiasm to experience on Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2 the Forum in Burkina Faso, organized thanks to the precious help of Focolarino Bernard Minani and espoused by the Archbishop of Bobo-Dioulasso, Bishop Paul Ouedraogo.
The Forum entitled “Faire Espace alla réÉvolution des Œuvres de Miséricorde” will be held at the Centre de Formation des Travailleuses Missionnaires de l’Immaculée in Bobo-Dioulasso and will feature many distinguished speakers. It will begin on Saturday, December 2, at 8 a.m. with the opening Holy Mass celebrated by Vicar General, Abbé Jacques Dembele.
Saturday’s day, after a presentation by Spazio Spadoni by Focolar Bernard Minani, will see a succession of papers on four major themes:
- Mercy and the Works of Mercy a from the Apostolic Letter “Misericordia et misera”, speaker Sister Chantal Nikiema
- The Works of Mercy in light of the Kuran, speaker Imam Oumarou Mone
- African Culture through the Wisdom of Ubuntu and the Works of Mercy, speaker Focolarino Bernard Minani
- The encounter between the charisms of Religious Congregations and the Works of Mercy, five congregations compared
Sunday morning, on the other hand, will begin with the presentation of HIC SUM, the project with which Spazio Spadoni kicked off its work.
It will then continue with an in-depth discussion of two themes:
- The Works of Mercy and Reciprocity. The case of Economy of Communion enterprises, speaker M. Noël Kiemtore
- The Christian. The believer and the enterprise, speaker Abbé Alain Nikiema
A closing Holy Mass will be held at 12 noon local time following which there will be an opportunity to have lunch together. Both days will also be enlivened by moments of communal discussion.
The micro-conventions in Africa represent for Spazio Spadoni the concretization of a desire expressed and launched at the end of the Convention in September 2022. In fact, most of Spazio Spadoni’s projects with numerous women’s religious congregations are concentrated on the African continent, and the Forums, in addition to being a springboard to make the activities promoted by Spazio Spadoni even more known, are also an opportunity to strengthen existing partnerships.
