Luisa Piccarreta and devotion to the angels
Marcello Stanzione – Ed. Gribaudi
Apulian mystic Luisa Piccarreta (1865-1947) had a constant bond with her guardian angel, whom she felt was always present from her childhood. There are several references to angels in Luisa’s writings, for example, as early as in the Memoirs of Childhood when at age 11 she recalls the help she had from her guardian angel to overcome her many fears. These pages retrace and comment in particular on her relationship with angels from the writings of the Apulian mystic who is increasingly attracting faithful who wish to know the essential elements of the spirituality of the “little daughter of the Divine Will,” as Jesus himself calls her. Completing the book are prayers that the mystic addressed to the angels, taken from the 36 volumes – more than 5,000 pages -, of Piccarreta’s diary when she was in little more than first grade.
