“Letters Under the Tree” | 12

Under the tree today is a letter from Rosaria Brigante, who writes to us from Banzi, in the province of Potenza

Dear World,

I am writing you a thought that has always been on my mind.

I ask for mercy for all those people, often elderly, who have no roof or bed to take refuge in at the end of a difficult day.
I would like to warm you all, with the warmth of my tears, thinking of you out there, sleeping on a cardboard box or in a car, struggling, alone, against the thousands of difficulties that life has placed before you.

I ask for mercy, dear world, so that the right to have a home is for everyone, even for those they call “the last.”
