Jubilee 2025: art becomes an instrument of hope and rebirth

Jubilee 2025 will not only be an event of great spiritual significance, but also an opportunity to celebrate art as a tool for hope and social change. With an ambitious artistic program, desired by the Holy See and inspired by the papal bull Spes non confundit and the initiative The Doors of Hope, the Holy Year opens to an inclusive dialogue involving fragile communities and promoting an idea of spirituality capable of going beyond the boundaries of faith.
Cardinal José Tolentino de Mendonça, Prefect of the Holy See’s Dicastery for Culture and Education, outlined the main initiatives, emphasizing how art can become a tool for awareness and active citizenship. “Sometimes art is considered a luxury destined for the enjoyment of the few,” the Cardinal said in an interview for arte.it, ”but in reality it has the power to reflect the human condition in its totality and to make visible dramas that are often ignored.
