In the eyes of the Father we are all children

What unites us is the same love with which He fills us, the same passion that moves His heart: “that all may be one”

It was the first of the year, Simone decides: “today we go to the Red Sail” for a final farewell, for a show of solidarity with the last inhabitants of the concrete and steel monster.

As soon as we set foot in that structure, three young men chased us and said, “you can’t stay here, objects fall from above.” We made the gesture to leave; then, Pasquale came, we were joined by Salvatore and, finally, by Marco who gave us a tour of accommodation 116 on the third floor.

“I will miss you, my home 116” was written on the wall.

On the right, a painting of Our Lady leaning against the sofa; on the left, the television, a shelf and leaning over the remote control as if to say: press the Play button to keep the life of this accommodation going.

But unfortunately, the apartment was inexorably empty; the children had left along with their parents.

Salvatore opened the doors of his home and, miraculously, lying on the large living room table, we were confronted with the greatest love: a baby boy on the home table with a light in front of him.
On the cup that contained the light was written, “atrapas tus sueños,” “catch your dreams.”

My dream is to “make the world one family,” but this clashes with the sad reality in front of me: people living dramatically on the edge of the street.

For more than forty years, you have been obliged to live in a dilapidated structure or in a Roma camp registered in the 72 SINs, that is, the most polluted places in Italy, and suddenly, by a decree written on a piece of paper, you are given a few days to leave because the place where you live is not safe.
I have a home, a hot plate on the table as well, the freedom given by a good schooling I have and they do not: why ?

My mission leads me to offer answers to this question, it is a need for justice that is rooted in the very heart of God : “that they have the same opportunities that I had.”

Why not ?

A home, a study, a job?

What if you could involve others in this dream? Miriam, Andrea, Nicole then Nunzio, Antonella, Luigi?

The revolution is fine and done : the love of Christ impels us to want the good of mankind where even by saving only one, I save myself and the least of my brothers.
