Discover us “Next Face”
Lent, an opportunity to discover oneself FaceNext during the journey, among the wounds and questions of existence
(by Agostino Rigon)
I do not know what face each of us has at this precise moment of our journey.
Whether tired or light, afflicted or serene. More inclined to uncertainty or hope.
Today it is very easy to feel the radical loneliness of existing and not to find interlocutors for the great thirsts we nurture.
Therefore, moments are needed to help us discover ourselves “FaceNext,” listening to the deep questions we have inside and discover around us.
We will not be able to listen to God’s voice if we do not take care of the voices, the wounds that condition the hope of our Next.
But where can we find that “desert” suitable for experiencing this decisive interchange?
In merciful friendship with the face of our neighbor!
The time of Lent is a Christological time that focuses on the person of Jesus and his gaze that, with care, he extends over each of us.
Because of its transformative tension, it is the favorable Time to savor it.
From his “appropinquing” mercy will arise the possibility of forgiveness, of restarting, of giving reversibility to closed paths, because it is a gushing source of the future. Happy Lent!
